Am I too old / young to fly?
You are never too old as long as you are reasonably fit and medically sound. As for too young…. you can start flying as soon as your feet reach the pedals, however you have to be 14 years old to have your hours logged into a log book to work towards a licence.
What are the medical requirements?
To train for a licence you require a declaration of fitness from your GP, It’s very similar to the DVLA requirement to drive a car, other licences require a slightly more involved medical.
How fast can you go?
Light aircraft have an average cruise speed of 80-120 mph, however the latest ‘super ships’ are averaging cruise speeds well above that level.
How far can you travel?
